Black Swan
Cygnus atrata

The Black Swan is the only native swan of Australia and is the emblem of the state of Western Australia. The plumage is mostly black, but with white primary wing feathers, most clearly seen when flying. As with other species of swan, they usually pair for life. While not the largest of all swans (120-142 cm), they have the longest neck for body size. The first two are adults, the third and fourth are juveniles and the last is a cygnet.
