Budgerigar
Melopsittacus undulatus

Budgerigars are a common household pet that have been bred in several colour forms, but only occur in the wild in green. They are seed-eaters, moving through arid regions across much of Australia (apart from Tasmania, the east coast and the far north) and breed whenever rainfall allows. They are small for parrots at 17-18 cm and can form large flocks.
