Colluricincla harmonica

The Grey Shrike-thrush is a common bird throughout many parts of Australia, preferring woodland, forests and farmland, and is also found in Papua New Guinea and larger offshore islands around Australia. While it may appear a drab bird, it is one of the best songbirds in Australia. It has a varied diet consisting of insects and other small creatures up to frogs and lizards. They pair for life and maintain a territory for the duration of their lives. They are medium sized passerines at 22-25 cm in length.
