Hoary-headed Grebe
Poliocephalus poliocephalus

These medium-sized grebes (29-31 cm) are found across Australia on inland lakes, ponds and dams. They can look simliar to the Australasian Grebe in non-breeding plumage, but the darker crown stripe extends beyond the eye. They feed on small and invetebrates, diving to reach them.
