Little Black Cormorant
Phalacrocorax sulcirostris

As the name suggests, this cormorant is quite small at 55-65 cm. Like most other cormorants, it can be found in marine or inland bodies of water where they dive for fish. Cormorants and darters are not waterproof, so can often be seen perched with their wings spread to dry them out. The first bird is an adult and the second a juvenile with lighter, browner plumage and a dark eye instead of the turquoise of the adult.
