Pied Cormorant
Phalacrocorax varius

The Pied Cormorant is a large member of the cormorant family (70-75 cm) found in Australia and New Zealand. As with other cormorants, the main food source is fish, for which it dives and catches with its hooked beak. They are moderately common on the eastern coast of Australia, but more so in the west.
