Welcome Swallow
Hirundo neoxena
Welcome Swallows are a close relation to the Barn Swallow and look very similar, although with much greyer underparts and the lack of a black breast band. They are resident in Australia all year, although some migrate to the north in the winter, but are more common in the South. They are closely related to the Pacific Swallow and look very similar, but the Pacific is a rare visior to Australia. 15 cm.
