Yellow-billed Spoonbill
Platalea flavipes

The larger of the two native spoonbills to Australia, the Yellow-billed is more of an inland species, favouring freshwater, while the Royal Spoonbill can also be coastal. They are large birds at 76-91 cm in length and have a much longer bill, which is used to sweep through silt and mud to filter out invertebrates.
