Ornate Frog
Cophixalus ornatus

This tiny frog (males 1.7 - 2.7 cm, females 2.2 - 3.0 cm) is another Queensland endemic, occuring in a small region including Cairns and Townsville. They are part of the Australian branch of the Microhylidae which are unusual in that the eggs develop straight into frogs, bypassing the tadpole stage.
