Common Gull
Larus canus

Despite the name, there are more numerous species of gull in Britain. These can be found along coasts, but also inland. They look like scaled-down Herring Gulls, but slimmer in build with shorter beaks with distinctive markings in Winter and yellow-green legs. All four shots show Winter adults and photo four also has a second-Winter bird in the top left hand corner, which has more black on the wings.
