European Greenfinch
Carduelis chloris

Greenfinches are common birds, often in gardens as well as the country and are prolific songsters with a twittering song and a long call that almost sounds like 'greeeeeen', which helps in indentifying them. The males are more brightly coloured than the females. They were also introduced to Australia and New Zealand, although they are not so common in Australia. For European finches, they are medium-sized at around 15 cm in length.
