Great Spotted Woodpecker
Dendrocopos major

Great Spotted Woodpeckers usually live in woodlands, but will sometimes visit birdtables if short of food. They are much more common than the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker as well as quite a bit larger. They are often quite wary of people and often fly away (luckily this one didn't...).
