Great Tit
Parus major
These common garden birds are not always shy and a few in Kelvingrove Park will even eat from an outstretched hand. They have an easily
recognisable ‘teacher, teacher’ call, although they have many other phrases which can lead to many a hunt to see what's making the call. The
first bird is a female and 3 and 4 are males - males have a bold black stripe down the breast, while females have a patchy stripe.
