Mute Swan
Cygnus olor

The most common swan in Britain by far, they are often approachable, although can be aggressive (see the fifth picture). If feeding bread to swans, you should be careful to throw the bread into the water as eating dry bread can make them ill as it expands in their stomachs. These are adults:
