(Eurasian) Widgeon

These colourful dabbling ducks are mostly winter visitors, although some are resident in Britain. They can be found in shallow waters and sometimes grazing in fields. The males have red heads with yellow stripes down the front, pink breasts and grey flanks and back, while the females are more plain with brown heads and dappled brown bodies.
