New Zealand Bellbird (Korimako)
Anthornis melanura

Bellbirds are one of the few New Zealand endemics that have bounced back and are now common across much of the country. This bird was photographed on the reserve at Tiritiri Matangi and despite the rings, is a wild one rather than translocated. As the name suggests, the call is bell-like.
