Song Thrush
Turdus philomelos

Song Thrushes are another introduced European species and have become common in New Zealand. Between these and the Blackbird, they now make up much of the dawn chorus in suburban areas. They are ground feeders, mainly eating worms and snails, but sing from exposed perches. The song will often contain phrases that are repeated a few times before the next phrase and each bird has its own favourite phrases.
