Blackcap Sylvia atricapilla
Blackcaps are a common summer visitor to most of Europe, although a few do overwinter. Their song is quite thrush-like
and an old nickname for it was 'the nightingale of the North'. This is a male, as can be seen from the black cap,
whereas the females have brown caps.
